Basic exercises are the best exercises to build both strength and muscle. Bent over rowing is a fantastic exercise that is focused on back development – particularly back thickness.
The bent over row however is not an easy exercise to do. Its an awkward exercise that is often done far too heavy. This results in a swinging motion and more emphasis going towards the trapezius muscles. It also increases the chance of back injury.
I recommend that you use mirrors for this exercise and get feedback from an experienced muscle trainer in the gym to watch you perform these. The key is to bend your knees, keep your back straight, then lift a barbell up into your lower rib cage area in a controlled fashion. In fact the repetitions should be squeezed. Keep repetitions higher for this exercise as this will help you get your form right.
How to build muscle fast for men is doing basic exercises – the bent over row, when performed correctly, is one of those exercises.
